Please find attached new titles from the Jan/Feb 2011 period. We are running behind schedule currently due to some important changes we have been making to our distribution in the US. Consequently we would like to make the following announcements:
African Books Collective will shortly be operating fully independently in the US. For all new titles from January 2011, including the titles advertised here, orders should be directed to orders@africanbookscollective.com From 1 May 2011, all orders should be directed to ABC. In any case all orders can henceforth be directed to ABC who will ensure fulfilment. Whilst ABC is not currently proposing to establish a US address, all orders will be processed within the US; orders will be shipped from within the US, processed in USD and payments can be made into a US bank account. africanbookscollective.com will shortly be made available to US customers, orders will be processed in USD through Paypal and our US account. Customers outside North America ordering on africanbookscollective.com will continue to be checked-out through Google Checkout. All customers worldwide can continue to order from your favourite online retailer. If you have any questions about this reorganisation we would like to hear from you. Get in touch online here http://www.africanbookscollective.com/contact-us or email me, Justin at justin.cox@africanbookscollective.com
African Books Collective, as well as print editions, also distributes electronic content on behalf of publishers. General customers can download Adobe Digital Editions from numerous ebook retailers online. We recommend Diesel ebook Store and Powells. We also have a small but increasing number of titles in epub format available from Into eBooks. Libraries can order ABC distributed content for their collections through either Ebrary or MyiLibrary. We are currently working on adding titles which are available electronically to our website. Meantime please visit our site here http://www.africanbookscollective.com/how-to-order#section-3 and discover which titles are currently available from your favourite retailer.

Manila Publishers Company, Nigeria has published Ikeogu Oke’s poetry collection Salutes without Guns. There is a bit of buzz around this book, it was was selected as one of the Books of the Year 2010 by the Times Literary Supplement and was long-listed for the 2010 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature. Nadine Gordimer has this to say about it: “Here is a writer who finds the metaphor for what has happened and continues, evolves, not often the way we want, in our lives in Africa and the world. He does so timelessly and tellingly, as perhaps only a poet can“. http://www.africanbookscollective.com/books/salutes-without-guns
