Tamuka Chekero holds a PhD from the University of Cape Town (2023). He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship, University of Pretoria. He was a fellow at the World Bank Africa Fellowship (2020) within the Social Development Global Practice. He is also a three-time recipient of the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa Research Grant and has held an ARUA Research Fellowship for three consecutive years. Chekero will join the African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town, (2025) as a postdoctoral research fellow, contributing to the Wellcome Trust-funded “If Cities Could Speak” project.
